City Theater
City Theater shortly after it was built in November 1926.
Note the billboards at the entrance carried posters of scheduled motion pictures.
The north part of the building (where the Arts Council office is) was the Hutchison & Sons Repair Shop for shoes, guns, locksmith, leather harness & saddles, glazing- including auto, and a Whitty Electric Generator (the batteries can be seen in the background) used to supplement the undependable power supply. Upstairs they made ice chests for homes, swings and turned the posts and railings for porches for many of the older homes. 'Sibb' had his sign and furniture repair work there, too. He also painted stage scenery for the schools.
Also the very muddy Model T Ford, a testament to the muddy roads and streets of that era.
